CAMCAS carries out house repairs for older people and people with disabilities through County Council / Local Authority grant aided renovations and adaptations.
This includes House Repairs:

  • Replacement of doors and windows
  • Bathrooms and showers/tiling
  • New Roof/roof repairs
  • Electrical work
  • Plumbing work
  • Painting, Wallpapering
  • General clean up of house and garden

The Better Energy Warmer Homes Scheme (BEWHS) is a free service provided by CAMCAS in Counties Cavan and Monaghan to
make homes more comfortable, healthier and more cost effective to run.

This service is provided at no cost to the homeowner and involves the installation of the following measures:

  • Attic insulation;
  • Draught proofing
  • Lagging jackets
  • Low energy light bulbs
  • Cavity Wall insulation
  • Energy Advice

This scheme is available to houseowners who meet the following criteria:

  1. Owner occupied, non-local authority homes
  2. Constructed before 2006 (guidelines changed)
  3. The owner is in receipt of ONE of the following payments:
    • Fuel allowance as part of the National Fuel Scheme
    • Job Seekers Allowance for over six months and with a child under seven years of age
    • Family income supplement

Audits and site inspections carried out by SEAI confirm that CAMCAS work is of the highest standard.

This scheme is available to houseowners who meet the following criteria:
